The Amsterdam Light Festival 2013

The Amsterdam Light Festival is a winter light festival in the city, staging over 30 unique art works all created around the theme “Building with Light”. Rogier van der Heide is Curator and Artistic Director and one of the co-founders of the festival in its current form. During 50 days in December 2013 and January 2014, the historical center of Amsterdam will be a unique décor for this international “festival of light and water”.
Out of over 300 submissions, a distinguished panel of judges chaired by Rogier van der Heide has selected 30 light sculptures and projections by international artists. By far most of these are new works. The Amsterdam Light Festival will take place from Friday 6 December 2013 to Sunday 19 January 2014. The next edition of the festival will open in December 2014.
